The 2026 Yamaha YZ125 70th Anniversary Edition is a tribute to Yamaha’s rich motorsports heritage, blending classic styling with modern performance. Its 125cc liquid-cooled two-stroke engine delivers crisp throttle response and strong mid-to-high RPM power, thanks to Yamaha’s Power Valve System (YPVS). The six-speed transmission and wet multiplate clutch provide smooth gear engagement, making it race-ready straight out of the crate.

In terms of handling, the YZ125 features a lightweight, finely tuned chassis that offers nimble handling, more control, and less rider fatigue. The race-proven aluminum semi-double cradle frame is engineered to provide the perfect balance of strength and flex. The fully adjustable KYB Speed-Sensitive System inverted fork and KYB single shock provide exceptional front and rear wheel control, respectively. The high-performance braking system features a 270mm front and 240mm rear rotor, offering exceptional braking power and feel.

While the YZ125 70th Anniversary Edition excels in performance and styling, it may not be suitable for all riders. Its seat height of 38.6 inches and wet weight of 212 lbs may be challenging for shorter or less experienced riders. Additionally, the two-stroke engine requires a premix fuel-oil ratio and regular maintenance to keep it running at peak performance. However, for those who appreciate Yamaha’s legacy and seek a high-performance motocross bike, the YZ125 70th Anniversary Edition offers a compelling package.
